Tech Talk: Haddonfield’s Board of Education discusses advancing the school’s STEAM programs

Haddonfield’s Board of Education convened in Haddonfield Memorial High School’s library on Thursday, May 18 to discuss district-wide plans to advance science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics (STEAM) in Haddonfield schools. Stephen Burns, math facilitator at HMHS and leader of the district’s STEAM taskforce, outlined details on the progress of the high school’s STEAM initiative. He said the taskforce’s goal has been to create problem solvers who will thrive in the 21st century workplace.

Haddonfield eyes another special ride down Kings Highway

Haddonfield Memorial High School head football coach Frank DeLano says he still remembers what it was like in 2014 when his Bulldawgs captured the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 2 Championship, blowing through the three-round tournament outscoring opponents 102–7 and finishing with a 12–0 record. DeLano says he knows it is never easy. He knows he has to take it one game at a time, one practice at a time. He says he wants use the spring and summer training sessions to find and develop leaders each season.

Four Haddonfield Boy Scouts achieve the program’s highest honor

Four members of Haddonfield’s Boy Scouts of America (BSA) Troop 65 have received the honor of Eagle Scout, which is the highest achievement in the BSA program. Haddonfield United Methodist Church, sponsors of BSA Troop 65 of Haddonfield, held an Eagle Scout Court of Honor for Nicholas Bateman, Jack Grozier, Brandon Quanci and Sam Rivard. Part of their trail to Eagle Rank was to initiate, plan and execute a service project that would benefit the community.
