The event has been moved inside due to frequent weather issues over the years.
Tabernacle’s 2017 Strawberry Social will be held June 3 at the Tabernacle Community Center.
In previous years, the event was held at the grounds of Tabernacle Town Hall. However, the Tabernacle Historical Society, which runs the event, cited “perennial concerns about the weather” as an ongoing issue for the event. As a result, the social was moved indoors.
The Strawberry Social features fresh Tabernacle strawberries served with generous helpings of home-made cake and covered with whipped topping. Hot dogs, coffee, ice tea and water will also be available for those who want lunch before dessert. All food items are offered at nominal prices. The Society will also be selling commemorative plates, afghans and tree ornaments.
The Tabernacle Historical Society earmarks the proceeds from this fund-raiser for a scholarship it offers to a graduating Seneca senior from our town.
