Two Cherokee High School students recently attended The DECA International Career Development Conference (ICDC) in Anaheim,Ā Calif.
Brianna Hough and Dev Patel, both seniors, qualified for the conference by completing a chapter project/campaign and earning an above average score on the 11-page paper written discussing the charity and their fundraising efforts.
Cherokeeās DECA supported āNew Eyes for the Needyā as the selected charity for thisĀ year.
Their chapter donated $900 to the organization, which was raised through a Cherokee Faculty āDenim Dayā and chapter shirtĀ sales.
According to Cherokee, this conference is the culmination of the DECA year. More than 18,000 high school students, teacher- advisors, business professionals and alumni gather for several days of DECA excitement.
According to Cherokee, DECA, with nearly a 70-year history, has impacted the lives of more than ten million students, educators, school administrators and business professionals since it was founded in 1946. According to the school, the group prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around theĀ globe.
