The Margaret E. Heggan Free Public Library has recently purchased more than 100 new adult large print books
Thanks to a generous donation from the Friends of the Library, the Margaret E. Heggan Free Public Library has expanded its adult large print collection. More than 100 large print fiction and nonfiction books have been purchased.
In the fall of 2016, the library held focus groups to help the library develop its strategic plan for the next three years. One suggestion presented was the expansion of the library’s large print collection.
The Friends of the Library is a nonprofit organization that supports the library through fundraising and advocacy. In the past, they have provided the “Two Kids on a Bench” sculpture in front of the library, the “Under the Sea” mural in the children’s library, a projector and screen for the meeting room, funding for summer reading programs and guest speakers, and landscaping in front of the library.
The Friends of the Library meet in the library on the fourth Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. New members are always welcome. For more information about the Friends of the Library, please visit their website at www.hegganlibraryfriends.org.
The Margaret E. Heggan Free Public Library is located at 606 Delsea Drive. For more information, visit www.hegganlibrary.org, or call the library at (856) 589–3334.
