The championships is the second in three seasons for Cherry Hill East boys swimming and the 12th in the program’s history.
For the second time in three seasons, the Cherry Hill High School East boys swimming team is a state champion.
The Cougars topped off an undefeated season with a 94–76 win over Bridgewater-Raritan High School on Saturday, giving the program its second state championship in three years and fourth title in the last six years.
A Cherry Hill East swimmer took first place in five individual events, with Kevin Gillooly winning both the 50 and 100 freestyle and Jack Watson winning the 200 individual medley and 100 backstroke. Cherry Hill East also won both the 200 freestyle relay and 200 medley relay to help them to the victory.
The state championship is the 12th all-time for Cherry Hill East boys swimming. The only South Jersey boys swimming program with more state championships all-time is Moorestown High School.
