Washington Township schools are closed Thursday, Feb. 9

The schools will be closed due to expected inclement weather.

Due to the anticipated snow storm, Washington Township public schools will be closed Thursday, Feb. 9.

School officials made the announcement early Thursday morning.

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly issued a winter storm warning for snow, which will be in effect until 1 p.m. on Thursday. Snow accumulations are expected between 3 to 6 inches. A change from rain to sleet and snow is predicted between 5:30 a.m. and 7 a.m.

Governor Chris Christie also made the announcement that all state buildings will be closed on Thursday due to the impending storm for non-essential employees.
