Moorestown crime rate decreases in 2016
The crime rate within Moorestown fell 4.4 percent last year. Although instances of criminal activity have decreased within town, according to the Unified Crime Report, the Moorestown Police Department has no plans to reduce its dedicated and comprehensive law enforcement efforts.

Broken pencils unite family through art
A year ago, Moorestown resident Amy Barton began finding broken pencils in the pant pockets of her son, Luke, who was diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome in 2016, while doing his laundry. As these lead-filled discoveries continued, Barton began to collect the snapped pencils and soon found artistic inspiration from them.

Recently, the Moorestown Breakfast Rotary Club hosted Alexandra Wills, director of the Cathedral Kitchen (CK), which is located in Camden. The CK provides nutritious meals for impoverished residents of Camden. The Moorestown Breakfast Rotary Club has been a supporting organization for several years.
Moorestown Quakes win Big Bear Tournament
Over the Martin Luther King Jr. weekend, from Saturday, Jan. 14 to Monday, Jan. 16, the Moorestown Quakes and several area all-stars won the Big Bear hockey tournament held in Hatfield, Pa., with a thrilling 3–2 overtime victory in the championship game.
Rotary Lunch Club’s Kawempe Sewing Project tailors workshops in Uganda
Moorestown Rotary Lunch Club’s Kawempe Sewing Project is up and running in Uganda with a class of 14 trainees that includes two young men. The tailoring skills they learn in the 10-week workshop will help these patients of Kawempe Home Care (most of whom suffer from HIV/AIDS) provide food, clothing and school fees for their families.
