Seneca High School’s Student Council sponsored a toy drive to support South Jersey children and families in need. Toys were collected by Indian Mills Middle School, Cranberry Pines Elementary School and Olsen Middle School. The Medford Police Department provided the toy drive with 18 brand new bikes this year.
Seneca Student Council organized the toys and put the toys on display. Seneca’s Student Council, National Honor Society and Air Force JROTC members helped the agencies shop for specific toys, books, puzzles and more.
Representatives from the ARC of Burlington County, Christian Caring Center, Pemberton Emergency Squad, Camden Boys Club, Dudley Schools of Camden, picked up the toys to bring back to their agencies for distribution.

Twenty-three junior and senior students from Seneca High School, along with teacher chaperones Matt Abate, Jay Donoghue, and Lee Timpano, recently visited the Give Kids the World Village in Kissimmee, Florida from Dec. 4 to 7.
Students and staff volunteered their time at the Village, a 79-acre, nonprofit “storybook” resort in Central Florida. Here, children with life-threatening illnesses and their families are treated to weeklong, cost-free vacations. The Seneca students and staff had the pleasure of spending time with the families and children while serving meals, washing dishes, bussing tables, hosting a Halloween themed party, and running rides and activities at the village.
When asked what the experience meant to Seneca students, they responded that they felt inspired and gained new perspective on their own lives.
It was truly a one of a kind experience Seneca hopes more students can get involved with not only from Seneca, but from more schools in the area.
