The work to begin Dec. 19 in Cherry Hill and Pennsauken could necessitate shoulder or lane closures
The New Jersey Department of Transportation announced roadwork is being done on Route 70 from mile marker 0 to 2.55 and 5.33 to 7.67 in Cherry Hill and Pennsauken townships.
The project will include new curbing and sidewalks, inlet and manhole replacements, electrical upgrades along with paving and striping. Traffic signal upgrades being performed could necessitate a shoulder or lane closure during the day. All closures will be temporary. The work is anticipated to begin on Dec. 19. The exact timing of the project is dependent upon the weather and other factors.
“Anyone driving on Route 70 in Cherry Hill and Pennsauken needs to be aware that the state is conducting this roadwork,” said Freeholder Susan Shin Angulo, liaison to the Camden County Department of Public Works. “Please allow yourself extra time when traveling on Route 70, and whenever possible take an alternate route.”
