MHS’s Combustible Lemons FRC team to host first FLL Qualifying Event

The event will be held on Saturday, Dec. 17 beggining at 8 a.m.

Moorestown High School’s Combustible Lemons FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) team is excited to host its first official FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Qualifying event as part of the new Southern NJ region of FLL. The event will be held on Saturday, Dec. 17 beginning at 8 a.m. at the Upper Elementary School, located at 325 Borton Landing Road.

Starting the event off, team registration will comence at 8 a.m., followed by a coaches meeting at 8:30 a.m. Then at 9 a.m. the opening ceremonies will begin.

At 9:30 a.m. the Core Values, Robot Design and Research Project Competition and Judging will be held. Lunch breaks will follow at 11:30 a.m. and 12:45 p.m.

While the judges deliberate, attendees will be able to participate in dancing and games starting at 2:30 p.m. The awards ceremony will take place at 3 p.m. Ultimately, three teams will advance to the Regional Championship at Rowan University.

In addition to these events, an FLL Junior Expo for kids ages five to nine years old will run from 10 a.m. to noon. Attendees are invited to stop by and take a look at their projects. The concession stand will also be open at 8 a.m.with breakfast items, and lunch can be pre-ordered or purchased on site.

All family members and guests are admitted free of charge, and all proceeds from this event will go to support the Combustible Lemons in their 2017 season. Donations are happily accepted.
