MFS Captures South Jersey Tennis Championship

On Tuesday, Oct. 18, the Moorestown Friends School Girls’ Tennis team captured the NJSIAA Non-Public B South championship with a 3–2 win over Ranney School. They advance to the Non-Public B state championship match vs. Newark Academy on Thursday, Oct. 20 at 1 p.m. at Mercer County Park. It is the seventh South Jersey sectional championship for the program and first since 2007. The coach of the team is Mike Bodary.

Renna Mohsen-Breen (MFS) d Sophia Salvador 6–0, 6–3; Jess Ferber (MFS) d Anisha Gupta 6–2, 6–2; Elena Styliades (MFS) d Emma Nisbett 7–5, 6–1; Julianna Poupard and Nikki Goldwert (Ranney) d Amanda Augustino and Marguax Fox 6–4, 6–4; Maddie Blumenkrautz and Lexie Greenberg (Ranney) d Liz Huettl and Sasha Zekavat 6–0, 6–2.
