In other action, Cherry Hill East boys’ soccer came from behind on Thursday for their fourth win of the season.
Cherry Hill East girls’ volleyball kept its unbeaten record in league play in tact on Thursday afternoon as they won a tough, three-set match against Cherokee High School on the road.
All three sets were tight, with Cherry Hill East winning the first set, 25–22, and Cherokee winning the second set, 25–20. The Cougars won the third and deciding set to improve their record to 14–4.
Megan O’Rourke had a team-leading four aces, three blocks and 25 assists in the win. Kim Longa led the team with 11 digs. Kelly Babitz had 12 kills to lead the Cougars.
Cherry Hill East returns to the court this afternoon when they host Williamstown High School.
Cherry Hill East boys’ soccer earns come from behind win
After falling behind Camden Catholic High School, 2–1, in the first half, the Cherry Hill East boys’ soccer stormed back to score twice in the second half and grab a 3–2 victory over the Fighting Irish.
Robert Sparrow starred for the Cougars, scoring all three of his team’s goals in the game. Tomasso Cavallo and Rob Rogowski both earned assists. Cherry Hill East outshot Camden Catholic, 13–5, in the game.
The Cougars’ next game is next Tuesday at home against Washington Twp.
