The police department reports that as of now there have been no clown sightings.
The Burlington Township School District along with the police department sent out an electronic letter Monday evening advising parents that they were investigating some creepy clown threats that had been posted to social media.
The letter stated that the social media posts specifically mentioned The Burlington Township School District, and the district immediately alerted the police.
“The safety of our children and our community is a top priority for us and we are taking this matter seriously,” the letter continued.
The police department assured that it is actively investigating the posts and searching for those responsible. The department reported that as of now, there have been no clown sightings.
The schools will have increased police presence during opening and closing hours while the investigation continues.
