The inaugural event will take place at the library on Saturday, Sept. 10.
Runners of all skill levels and ages will converge on the Cherry Hill Public Library on Saturday, Sept. 10. The Cherry Hill Public Library and Cherry Hill Recreation Department are teaming up to host the first ever Book It 5K run and Kids 100-yard Dash. Sign-in will begin at 7 a.m.
The Book It 5K run will begin on the library grounds at approximately 8:15 a.m. and then wind through the surrounding neighborhoods. The race will end back at the library.
There will be prizes for the top three male and female runners in each category. The first 250 people to register for the race will receive a free t-shirt.
In addition to the 5K, kids will have a chance to participate in a 100-yard dash, taking place on the grass behind the library building. The dash will take place at approximately 7:30 a.m. prior to the 5K run. All kids participating in the dash will receive a prize.
The cost to participate in the 5K race is $30 per person. For kids participating in the 100-yard dash, the cost is $5. All participants are encouraged to register for the event in advance. Runners must register by Aug. 29 to guarantee an exact t-shirt size.
Any proceeds from the event will be donated to the Friends of the Cherry Hill Library.
