Cross paths with Medford Leas and explore, discover and grow through the new programming for the fall season of “Pathways to Learning at Medford Leas,” including lectures, field trips, workshops, tours, concerts, forums, exhibits and more.
To encourage and facilitate lifelong learning, all Pathways programs are open to the public and the majority is being offered at no cost. However, registration is required for many programs being held from mid-September through mid-December.
“This is Medford Leas’ ninth season of programming, which is designed to allow participants to explore, discover and grow,” said Jane Weston, Medford Leas director of development and community relations. “Our programs are intended to stimulate and provide opportunities to discover new interests, learn more about the world around us and enjoy the good company of other attendees. This fall we are pleased to bring back several long-enjoyed favorite programs, as well as to introduce new offerings.”

All programs are available for no cost and located at the Medford campus unless otherwise noted.
The Medford Campus Theater also will provide performances of opera, ballet, symphonic music and more from around the world: George Solti Conducts the Chicago Symphony on September 24, Rossini: Barber of Seville on October 22, Mendelssohn: A Midsummer Night’s Dream on November 5, and Handel: Messiah on December 17. There is a suggested $5 donation per performance, payable at the door. Attendees will feel immersed in the music with Medford Leas’ state-of-the-art projection screen and surround sound system.
In addition, the Medford Campus Art Gallery will be open daily. In September and October, the gallery will feature the work of Debby Pey, an award-winning artist and teacher, in an exhibit titled “Mix It Up,” presenting a variety of materials and textures that reflect both farmlands and cityscapes. In December, it will feature work from the Philadelphia Calligraphers’ Society.

Medford Leas is a nationally accredited not-for-profit community, guided by Quaker principals, for those who are aged 55 and older, with two campuses. The Medford Campus is located at 1 Medford Leas Wayin Medford, and the Lumberton Campus is located at 180 Woodside Drive in Lumberton.
