The Voorhees Theatre Company (VTC), a regional, nonprofit theater organization, will hold auditions for its fall production, “Beauty and the Beast,” Sept. 10 from 1 to 4 p.m. Those invited for callbacks will be asked to return on Sept. 11.
VTC’s biggest and only all-ages production of the year, “Beauty and the Beast” is open to anyone over 8 with a desire to perform. Besides Belle and the beast, key roles in the classic story include Lumiere, Maurice, Cogsworth, and Le Fou. Yet dozens of roles will be cast, because like many of VTCs productions, Beauty and the Beast features a large ensemble.
Singing ability is preferred, so those auditioning should come prepared to sing 16 bars of a Broadway song that demonstrates range and ability, and be dressed appropriately to dance. An accompanist will be available to play sheet music, or those audtioning can bring their own musical accompaniment on a digital device.
A $25 audition fee will be collected. Upon casting, a $75 fee will be charged, which covers, in part, script rental and costuming. Auditions will be held at Voorhees Middle School Theater, 1000 Holly Oak Drive.
