The community is invited to celebrate summer right here in Haddonfield with downtown’s biggest shopping weekend of the season — its townwide sidewalk sale.
One of the largest sales of the year, the Haddonfield Summer Sidewalk Sale is back for four days of savings and entertainment starting Thursday, Aug. 4 to Sunday, Aug. 7. The event will feature many of Haddonfield’s shops and boutiques setting up along the sidewalks of downtown Haddonfield for summertime shopping in the sun.
“We are so excited for this year’s sidewalk sale. This summer event is a must-attend,” said Remi Fortunato, retail recruiter for the Partnership for Haddonfield. “Our downtown is a shopper’s paradise — each one of our stores is uniquely different, offering something for the entire family.”
The Summer Sidewalk Sale has taken place in Haddonfield for years. The sidewalks of downtown will be filled with tables, tents and racks displaying all kinds of products on sale from running shoes to dresses to books. People are invited to roam the displays and businesses to see what stores have to offer.
“I know people who wait all year (for this sale). It is an annual event where everyone saves up their clearance all year. There are really good bargains, as businesses are hoping to clear out for fall and winter merchandise coming in,” Fortunato said.
Fall collection previews will also be on display inside and outside the stores.
Last year, attendees said they liked being able to walk to all of the different stores and receive the personalized attention they get from local shops.
“I hope (new attendees) take away how nice the town is, the atmosphere and the hospitality that is around that day,” Fortunato said.
Sidewalk Sale hours are Thursday, Aug. 4 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday, Aug. 5 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 6 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 7 from noon to 5 p.m.
“Haddonfield always makes a nice stage for (the annual sale). Be sure to walk around, find bargains, eat and spend a family day in town,” Fortunato said.
Coming up in downtown Haddonfield is the Haddonfield Night Market, Haddonfield’s first food truck event, to be held on Sept. 8, and the annual Ankokas Antique Auto Show to be held on Sept. 17.
