Paul Crozier received a $5,000 scholarship after being selected as the winner of the AAA South Jersey Essay Scholarship contest.
Recent Cherry Hill High School East graduate Paul Crozier was recently selected as the winner in the AAA South Jersey Essay Scholarship contest. Crozier earned $5,000 toward his college tuition with his winning entry.
Crozier and other participants in the contest were presented with the following scenario to answer with a maximum of 1,000 words:
“Cell phones are an integral part of teenagers’ lives. Despite statistics, enforcement and numerous advertising campaigns showing the dangers of texting and driving, teens continue to text or talk on the phone while driving. What, if anything, can be done to stop teens from using a phone while driving? What could be done to stop you and your friends from texting and driving?”
A panel of judges selected Crozier’s paper as the best one out of almost 300 entries. A total of 63 high schools from Camden, Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem counties were presented. All entrants received a free, one-year basic student membership to AAA South Jersey.
Crozier plans to use his scholarship to help pay for his tuition at Rutgers University-Camden.
