The following reports are on file with the Mt. Laurel Police Department:
At 3:17 a.m. on June 19 Mt. Laurel Police responded to a single vehicle motor vehicle crash on Church Street near Laurel Acres Park. During the investigation officers arrested a female, age 29, of Evesham. She was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a court hearing.
A victim reported that cash and vehicle keys were stolen from a secured locker at a water park on Route 73 between10:45 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. on June 18.
At 1:11 a.m. on June 17 Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 73 near Atrium Way. During the stop officers arrested a male, age 37, of Vancouver, British Columbia. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a court hearing.
At 8:15 p.m. on June 16, Mt. Laurel Police responded to the report of a fire at the basketball courts on Willow Turn near Larchmont Boulevard. The arriving officers located an unexploded glass bottle containing gasoline and a sock used as a wick (Molotov cocktail) and evidence that another one had been thrown and ignited on the basketball court. Witnesses reported seeing juveniles in the area prior to the fire.
At 3:29 p.m. on June 16, Mt. Laurel Police responded to the Shoprite on Nixon Drive for a shoplifting report. During the investigation officers arrested a female, age 41, of Maple Shade. She was charged with shoplifting and hindering her own apprehension after she provided a false name to officers. She was released pending a court hearing.
A victim reported that she was shopping at a store on Dearborn Circle at approximately 1:30 p.m. on June 16. She accidentally left her purse near the checkout counter and exited the store. She realized her mistake and returned approximately 5 minutes later and the purse was gone. The bag contained cash and identification.
At 11:45 p.m. on June 15, Mt. Laurel Police responded to a motor vehicle crash on Route 73 at Fellowship Road. During the investigation officers arrested a female, age 38, of Pepperell, Mass. She was charged with assault by auto and driving while intoxicated. The driver and passenger of the other involved vehicle were transported to the hospital with minor injuries. The female was released pending a court hearing.
At 11:16 a.m. on June 15, Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Nixon Drive near Lenola Road. During the stop officers arrested a male, age 20, of Mt. Laurel. He was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released pending a court hearing.
Wegmans Loss Prevention on Centerton Road reported a shoplifting that occurred at 11:10 p.m. on June 15. A suspect described as a female, approximately 5’5, between the ages of 25 and 35 wearing a black t shirt, black shorts, and black/orange sneakers left the store without paying for $448 worth of merchandise.
At 1:42 p.m. on June 14, Mt. Laurel Police were at the Roadway Inn on Route 73 investigating a disturbance involving a man with a gun. During the investigation an officer observed a subject sitting in a car in the hotel parking lot rolling a marijuana cigarette. Officers arrested a male, age 29, of Morrsiville, Pa. Subsequent to his arrest he was found in possession of a stun gun. The male was charged with possession of a stun gun and possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana. Bail was set at $7,500 with no 10 percent option and he was committed to the Burlington County Jail.
At 1:32 p.m. on June 14, Mt. Laurel Police responded to the Rodeway Inn on Route 73 for the report of a disturbance involving a man with a handgun. The investigation identified the man with the gun as a resident at the hotel, a male, age 62. A search warrant for his hotel room was obtained and the search led to the recovery of a .40 caliber handgun with a high capacity magazine loaded with hollow point ammunition. Investigators also found distribution quantities of heroin and crack cocaine, as well as drug paraphernalia. Arrest warrants were obtained for the male charging him with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during a drug distribution offense, possession of a large capacity magazine, possession of hollow nose ammunition, possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, possession of heroin, possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a hypodermic syringe. Bail was set at $205,000 with no 10 percent option. Hall was arrested and committed to the Burlington County Jail.
At 3:50 a.m. on June 14 Mt. Laurel Police located a female, age 19, of Camden walking on the center median of Route 73 near Rodgers Walk. During the stop she was arrested after it was discovered she was wanted out of Lancaster County, Pa. for fraud. She was also found in possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia. She was charged with being a fugitive from justice, possession of heroin, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $17,500 no 10 percent option and she was committed to the Burlington County Jail.
At 12:05 p.m. on June 13 Mt. Laurel Police responded to a hotel on Route 73 for a suspicious person report. Officers located and arrested a male, age 25, of Browns Mills. The investigation identified the male as the subject who broke into several hotel rooms on June 12 and stole cash and credit cards. The male was found in possession of a stolen hotel room master key, a stolen credit card, and merchandise purchased at the Moorestown Mall with a stolen credit card. The male was charged with burglary, theft, theft of a credit card, receiving stolen property, and criminal trespass. He also had outstanding warrants from other jurisdictions. Bail was set at $30,000 no 10 percent option and he was committed to the Burlington County Jail.
At 11:13 p.m. on June 12, Mt. Laurel Police responded to a motor vehicle crash on Route 73 near Atrium Way. During the investigation officers arrested a male, age 42, of Bellmawr. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a court hearing.
A guest at a hotel on Route 73 reported that someone stole cash and a credit card from his room sometime on June 12. The credit card was then used at several nearby stores.
On June 12, Mt. Laurel Police responded to a hotel on Route 73 for a criminal mischief report. The victim reported that someone broke a rear door window on the vehicle sometime between June 11 and 12 while the vehicle was parked in the hotel parking lot.
At 3:43 a.m. on June 12, Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 73 near Lincoln Drive. During the stop Mount Laurel Police K-9 Nina was called to assist the officers with the detection of narcotics. K-9 Nina walked around the vehicle and alerted to the presence of narcotics. A subsequent search of the vehicle by officers resulted in the discovery of heroin and drug paraphernalia. Officers arrested male, age 34, of Marlton. He was charged with possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was turned over to another law enforcement agency for an outstanding arrest warrant.
At 4:42 p.m. on June 11, Mt. Laurel Police responded to a hotel on Route 73 for an assault report. A lifeguard at the hotel was assaulted by a hotel guest after he confronted the guest concerning cutting line at pool waterslide. No injuries occurred. The victim did not want to pursue a complaint and the offender was removed from the hotel premises.
A guest at a hotel on Route 73 reported that on June 10 her Samsung tablet, a credit card, and $100 cash were stolen from her room. The credit card was also used at several locations at nearby stores.
At 8:35 p.m. on June 10, Mt. Laurel Police responded to a hotel on Nixon Drive for a fraud report. The hotel management reported that after a guest used a credit card to pay a $249.99 bill they received notification that the use of the card was fraudulent. During the investigation officers arrested a female, age 24, of New Castle, Del. She was charged with the fraudulent use of a credit card and possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana. She was released pending a court hearing.
A victim reported that she arranged to by T-shirts from a vendor she located on Craig’s List. On June 9 she sent the vendor a $100 Money Gram but the T-shirts were never delivered. When she called the vendor he told her, “sorry, you got scammed!” The investigation revealed that the Money Gram was redeemed in the country of Cameroon.
