Moorestown celebrates Independence Day with Fourth of July parade

Moorestown’s Fourth of July Committee would like to remind everyone that it is going to have the parade again this year, unless a storm threatens the town which will cancel the parade.

The committee would like to invite all of Moorestown’s civic groups, such as the Garden Club, Historical Society of Moorestown, Moorestown Improvement Assn., STEM, etc. to march with your group in the parade. The committee would also like to invite custom vehicle owners to drive your car/truck in the parade.

There’s a special place in the parade for our heroes; our military veterans, active and former, to ride on the Veteran’s Float. Of course, it wouldn’t be a Fourth of July parade without the children’s decorated bicycles, scooters and wagons.

If you intend to be in the parade, please be at the staging area of Chester and Central Avenue by 11:30 a.m. on July 4 so the committee has time to get the parade in proper order. Step off is at noon. Please park as far from that intersection as possible to have the room to organize the parade. There will be a portable restroom at the staging area.

Of course, the Fourth of July Committee needs funding to keep this tradition going. You can donate online by going to www.moorestown4thjuly.org, then hit the ‘donate’ button. Or you can send a check for any amount made out to the “4th of July Committee” and mail it toDave Schill, President, Moorestown’s 4th of July Committee, 132 Harding Ave., Moorestown, N.J. 08057.

The committee would like to know that you are participating in the parade, so hit the “participate” button by visiting moorestown4thjuly.org and follow the prompts. And, if you just want to watch the parade, get a spot along the route early.

The Moorestown 4th of July Committee is a 501©(3) tax-exempt organization.

For questions email Schill at [email protected].
