Join Indian Springs Questers of Moorestown as it celebrates its 35th anniversary by a fundraiser on a true stern-wheeler boat cruising the historic Toms River on Tuesday, June 14. The cruise will promote Questers’ support of restoration and preservation projects at the local level. Past recipients of its grants-in-aid have been the Alice Paul Institute, Historical Society of Moorestown, the Burlington County Lyceum and the Salem County Historical Society.
The Toms River area is a broad tidal estuary with marina, yacht clubs, a golf course, and historic homes, many dating back to the turn of the century. River banks are surrounded by pleasant hills and beautifully manicured lawns and gardens.
The cruise leaves from Toms River at 11 a.m. on Flag Day, Tuesday, June 14 rain or shine for a two and a half hour paddle wheel cruise of the historic Toms River. Capt. Lance Chambeau will give a commentary while dinning under cover, on the lower deck. The tables are arranged so passengers can enjoy the view while dining.
Tickets are only $50 each and include several luncheon selections, including gluten free choices. Standard size wheelchairs can be accommodated. Meter parking is available on the dock. This special event is open to the public, but seating is limited.
