This is the second year for Virtua Foundation’s “Run with the Docs”, a 5K race and 1-mile fun run/walk that supports Virtua’s new, comprehensive Perinatal Bereavement Program. Physicians will run alongside patients and community members to support this special cause.
The Perinatal Bereavement Program ensures that families and caregivers who experience the loss of a pregnancy or infant loss have access to a multi-disciplinary range of services that provide comfort and support during a very difficult time. With gifts made to Virtua Foundation, Virtua now facilitates education and sensitivity training for healthcare teams in New Jersey and Pennsylvania that may have contact with a family who experiences loss. Bereavement support and counseling is available for grieving parents who are patients at Virtua and at other hospitals in our community.
All proceeds from “Run with the Docs” will support the Perinatal Bereavement Program.
The event will take place on Sunday, June 5, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., with the 5k starting at 8:30 a.m. and the 1-mile Fun Run/Walk starting at 9 a.m.
The event will take place at Virtua Voorhees, 100 Bowman Drive Voorhees.
Free parking will be located in Lot E.
