Dona Allison (Kocher) Camin
May 16, 2016
On Monday, May 16, beloved sister, Dona Allison (Kocher) Camin, slipped this mortal coil and joined heaven’s choir. She was 51. She had the voice of an angel that will never be forgotten. “Czarina Starfire” was the family bard. She wrote prolifically and performed in many venues. Always a free spirit, Dona loved to talk in a variety of accents. She once convinced a suitor that she was a French exchange student. He never did catch on that it was all an elaborate ruse.
In spite of her own significant challenges, she was an extremely thoughtful and generous person, rescuing animals and serving those less fortunate. Dona was planning to move back East to spend time with her family and especially her granddaughter, Madison Joan Montgomery, at the time of her passing.
A special thanks to Larry Brewer of Vernal, Utah, who was a kind and generous friend.
Dona was preceded in death by her parents, Joan (Lathbury) and Donald Kocher of Moorestown. She is survived by her loving son, Donald Montgomery (Lynn) of Delair; granddaughter, Madison Joan; her sister, Karen Kocher (Tom Schatz); and nephews, Nick and Noah Schatz of Austin, Texas and Nancy Kocher (Anita Biasi) of Moorestown.
Please join the family in a celebration of Dona’s life from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday, July 17 at the Moorestown Community House.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army of New Jersey.
