The Pinelands Garden Club and the Environmental Affairs Advisory Committee will once host Medford Township’s annual Arbor Day celebration on Friday, May 20 at 10 a.m. at the Cranberry Pines School. As one of the longest participating entities, Medford Township has achieved “Tree City USA” status for 37 years, and anticipates again being certified as a “Tree City” for 2017 by the National Arbor Day Foundation.
The celebration will feature a program with Mayor Jeffrey Beenstock, a number of activities, handouts and a tree planting dedication at Cranberry Pines School. Tree seedlings will be offered free by the township and Environmental Affairs Advisory Committee for every third grader in Medford with instructions on how to plant them.
