Burlington County Prosecutor Robert D. Bernardi and Evesham Township Police Chief Christopher Chew have announced that a 23-year-old Evesham resident was arrested Feb. 5 and charged with possession and distribution of child pornography.
The male was charged with one count of endangering the welfare of children (second degree) for distribution and one count of endangering the welfare of children (third degree) for possession.
The male was taken into custody on Friday, Feb. 5 at his residence following the execution of a search warrant. He was placed in the Burlington County Jail on $75,000 full bail.
The investigation revealed that the male was using his personal email account to actively trade child pornography with other individuals. Many of the images depicted prepubescent girls engaging in sexual acts with men.
The Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office High-Tech Crimes Unit, the Evesham Township Police Department and the New Jersey State Police Digital Technology Investigations Unit, which oversees the NJSP Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, conducted the investigation. The Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office High-Tech Crimes Unit is a member of the ICAC Task Force.
