On Feb. 14, Hazak will host a 2 p.m. screening of “The Return of the Violin.” The film chronicles the odyssey of a 301-year-old Stradivarius. The story is told through the eyes of Holocaust survivor, Sigmund Rolat. The movie reveals the violin’s relationship to Polish violinist, Bronislaw Huberman, a legendary humanitarian who saved Europe’s premiere Jewish musicians by forming the Palestine Orchestra.

On March 13 at 2 p.m. the film, “Beneath the Helmet: From High School to the Home Front” will be shown. The movie is a coming-of-age story following the journey of five Israeli high school graduates who are drafted into the army to defend their country. Tal Rosenberg who served with honors in the IDF Paratrooper’s Special Forces will be our special guest commentator.

The cost is $5 per person for one film or $8 for both movies. Refreshments will be served.

An RSVP is requested not later than Feb. 8. Walk-ins at the door are $10 per person.
