The public is invited to sample the wares of a variety of crafters at Medford Leas’ annual Holiday Craft Fair on Saturday, Dec. 5 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The main floor of the arts and social wing will be filled with booths offering products ranging from hand-made chocolates to knitwear, wooden bowls and fine glass objects. Admission and parking are free. Medford Leas is located on Route 70 at 1 Medford Leas Way, about one-half mile east of Route 541.
“The Holiday Crafts Fair was started nine years ago and is run by volunteers from the Medford Leas Residents Association,” says Chairperson Maggie Heineman. We have carefully selected our vendors for quality and variety, making this is an excellent place to find unique gifts. Many resident artists and crafters participate, showing remarkably beautiful quilts, hand-sewn and hand-knit clothing, wooden objects and framed photographs.”
Non-resident vendors come from throughout the area, bringing hand-made jewelry and beadwork, weaving, pottery, glassware, porcelain, shaker boxes, soaps, handbags and more. Many have participated for years and look forward to returning. Most dealers accept credit cards as well as cash.
A ticket auction of items including antique furniture, Murano glassware, fine art photographs, new books from Plexus Publishing, a framed Mole textile, vintage wooden Swiss Music Box and many more intriguing items. Tickets are $5 a piece or five for $20 with proceeds benefiting the Residents Assistance Fund, which enables long-time residents to remain at Medford Leas for their lifetimes.
