Kennedy Health describes fall as a time of transformation and can be the perfect time to make inspiring changes.
Kennedy’s three-week mindfulness series “Meditation and You,” which begins on Oct. 28, is meant to leave participants feeling both rejuvenated and inspired.
Beginners, as well as those who have meditated in the past, are welcome.
Each class builds on the previous week’s activities, so it is recommended, but not mandatory, to sign up for the whole three-session series.
The series costs $40; individual classes are $15 each.
Participants are welcome to bring a journal to record their thoughts.
Classes are held from 6:30–8 p.m. at the Kennedy Center at Voorhees, 1099 White Horse Road, are moderated by Mind/Body/Spirit Consultant Jen Cooley Fleisher, BS.
Classes include:
-The Art of Meditation on Wednesday on Oct. 28. The class will initially focus on the basics of meditation: traditions, breathing and health benefits. Then, participants will delve into various breath work practices, mindfulness techniques and other ways to incorporate meditation into their daily lives.
-Visualization and Guided Imagery on Wednesday, Nov. 4.. Amazing things can happen when creating and following visualizations or guided meditations. This class will explore different types of guided imagery, as well as how to create one’s own visualizations and how freeing and easy it is to incorporate this into one’s new mediation practice.
-The Zen of You on Wednesday, Nov. 11. Experiencing different meditations is an exciting part of starting a meditation practice. Continuing to explore more techniques, this fun class will explore mantra, metta (loving kindness), affirmations and chakra meditations. Bringing it all together, participants will leave with a mediation practice they can follow at home to help create a more peaceful life.
Registration for these classes is necessary, as space is limited. Register online at www.kennedyhealth.org or call 1 (800) 547–9007 and select Option №3.
