Ripa Center invites public to night of painting in support of breast cancer awareness
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Ripa Center for Women’s Health & Wellness invites guests to unleash their creative side during “Paint Night” on Wednesday, Oct. 21 , from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Ripa Center, 6100 Main Street in Voorhees.
The event is free and open to all individuals 21 years or older who have been touched by breast cancer or just want to support a cause that affects so many people. No experience is required and an expert will be on hand to help. The evening includes hors d’oeuvres and wine. All art supplies are included as well.
According to the American Cancer Society, about one in eight women in the United States will develop breast cancer during their lifetime. It is the most common cancer among American women. However, after increasing for more than two decades, female breast cancer incidence rates began decreasing in 2000. This decline is believed to be the result of earlier detection through screening and increased awareness, as well as improved treatment.
