Prostitution arrest and burglary reports lead Mt. Laurel Police Report this week

The following information was provided by the Mt. Laurel Police Department.

A resident of Holly Cove reported that his red 2008 Ducati 848 motorcycle was stolen sometime between Sept. 3 and 4 from the parking lot on Holly Cove.

On Sept. 4 at 11:50 a.m., Mt. Laurel Police conducted an investigation into suspicious activity at a hotel on Route 73. As a result of the investigation officers arrested a 25-year-old woman from Camden for prostitution after she solicited an undercover officer for sex. She was charged with engaging in prostitution and turned over to the Camden County Sherriff’s Department for outstanding warrants.

On Sept. 5 at 6:10 p.m., Mt. Laurel Police responded to a residence on the 100 block of Calderwood Lane for a burglary to the residence. The resident reported that she left her front door unlocked while she went out to run an errand. She returned approximately 10 minutes later and found her front door ajar. Her neighbor told her he saw a female climb out of a second floor window at the rear of the house and on to the roof. The female jumped to the ground, walked to a gold colored Mazda sedan that was waiting on Larchmont Boulevard and drove off. Approximately $400 worth of jewelry was stolen. The suspects were described as woman, about 20 years of age, with a short athletic build, wearing a navy blue hoodie, navy blue shorts, and tan work boots. The driver of the car was described as a man, about 20 years of age, with scruffy facial hair.

A resident of the 300 block of Larch Road reported someone stole a green, purple, and white Schwinn mountain bike from his driveway on Sept. 6 between 10:20 and 10:30 a.m.

On Sept. 6 at 1 p.m., Mt. Laurel Police responded to the ShopRite on Nixon Drive for a shoplifting complaint. During the investigation officers arrested a 32-year-old woman from Audubon. She was charged with shoplifting $108 worth of merchandise and released pending a court hearing.

On Sept. 6 at 5:15 p.m., Mt. Laurel Police responded to an attempted burglary to a residence on the 800 block of Centerton Road. A neighbor reported that he observed two juvenile males break a rear window to the residence in an attempt to enter the house. The neighbor yelled at the boys and they ran off towards Sternlight Drive. The homeowner was not home at the time of the incident. The suspects were described as two males, approximately 15 years of age. One was wearing a red shirt with a black backpack and the second was wearing a lighter colored shirt and a black backpack.
