Beep baseball returns to Haddonfield on Saturday, June 20 at Crows Woods Athletic Fields, East Atlantic Avenue. The BSO Wolfpack vs. New Jersey Titans shall play from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Beep baseball is hosted by the Haddonfield Lions Club.
Beep baseball is a specialized form of America’s pastime that has been adapted to be played by blind and sight-impaired players. The game uses standard softball bats, a 16 inch ball that makes a loud beeping sound, and flexible poles that buzz in place of bases.
The BSO Wolfpack team is an activity for blind and visually-impaired youth and adults in the tri-state area through the 4- year-old Blind Sports Organization, Inc., a non-profit community service organization. You can check them out on Facebook at www.facebook.com/blindsportsorg?fref=ts.
The New Jersey Titans team is a non-profit organization that serves North and Central New Jersey. You can find them on Facebook at facebook.com/njtitans.
The Haddonfield Lions Club is proud to host this unique event and to participate each year. As long-time Haddonfield Lions Club member Bill Hansen said, “this is really something to see.”
