On Tuesday, June 2, at approximately 1:30 p.m., Evesham Officers responded to the 500 block of Justice Drive for a home burglary in progress.
Investigation determined that an 11-year-old female, who was home alone, witnessed a male subject knock at the front door and then observed the male walk around to the back door where he forced entry into the home. The juvenile hid inside a closet in the master bedroom.
The male then forced entry through the master bedroom door that the juvenile had locked. As the suspect pushed into the closet where the juvenile was hiding the child screamed, realizing someone was in the closet the male fled the home.
Arriving police unit’s quickly established a perimeter and deployed a K-9 Unit. A witness reported seeing two males in gray hooded sweatshirts, running through their yard from the victim’s home. It appears the suspect(s) were targeting jewelry.
