Obituary: Harry E. Johnson, Moorestown Director of Police

Harry E. Johnson, of Mt. Laurel, fought until the end and passed away on April 24 at the age of 62. He was the loving son of Jane (nee Artz) and the late Harry Johnson; beloved husband of Deborah Johnson (nee Kozlowski); dedicated father of Erika and Harry Johnson; cherished brother of Cathleen Johnson, Jane Palmer, and Sheri Murphy (Benjamin) and brother-in-law of Kathie Solomon (Jason); and dear son-in-law of Jacqueline Carney (George). Harry is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Steven, Mason, Grace, Haley, Abigail, Charlotte and Lauren.

Harry graduated from Burlington City High School and attended Stockton State College. He proudly served his country in the Marine’s as a corrections officer and on border patrol. Harry then attended the police academy and became an officer in Edgewater Park. He later joined the Moorestown Police Department where he worked his way through the ranks to his current position as Director of Police in 1999. Harry was a dedicated and loving husband and father, who loved to travel and fish. He was very dedicated and took pride in everything he did.

Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Thursday, April 30, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and again on Friday from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Bradley Funeral Home, Evesham Road and Route 73, Marlton, NJ. The funeral service will be on Friday, at 11:30 a.m. at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church on Route 70 in Marlton. Military and Police Honors will follow at Parkview Cemetery at Kirby’s Mill in Medford. In Lieu of flowers a donation can be made to Erika and Harry Johnson at P.O. Box 364, Marlton, NJ 08053, for their education fund.
