Ciervo, a 1980 graduate of Camden Catholic, was one of 13 individual inductees and two teams entered into the hall of fame for 2015. He was one of six inductees installed in the school’s Emerald Hall of Fame for academics and arts. This is the ninth group to be recognized with the honor since the Camden Catholic Hall of Fame event began in 2007.

Ciervo was actively involved in many academic and arts-related activities during his four years at the high school, including: the National Honor Society, the French Honor Society, the marching band, the jazz band, the science club, and the yearbook club. Ciervo, who grew up in Merchantville, was also a member of the Camden Catholic track team.

A member of Kennedy’s senior leadership team since 2010, Ciervo was named chief physician executive in 2014. He plays a key role in Kennedy’s continued growth and transformation, working directly on hospital and health system initiatives related to the employed-physician model, population health, and clinical excellence. He also continues to oversee the management and operations of the Kennedy Health Alliance, a quickly growing network of primary and specialty care physician practices serving three counties in South Jersey.

A member of the Board of Governors for the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, Ciervo was honored in 2014 by the organization as a “Guardian of the Profession” for demonstrating a strong sense of pride in the osteopathic medical profession and for working actively to advance osteopathic medicine. Ciervo has served on the ACOFP industry relations committee, as chair of the in-service exam committee, and vice-chair of the committee on evaluation and education. Ciervo is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians State Society and the President’s Council for the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners. An inductee into the AOA Mentor Hall of Fame, Ciervo has conducted numerous clinical trials, has obtained several million dollars in grant funding for education and research and has presented at more than 100 national speaking engagements. Additionally, he has published more than 25 peer-reviewed articles for medical journals. Ciervo resides with his wife, headache specialist Loretta Mueller, and their daughter in Marlton, the same community where he practices family medicine.

The Hall of Fame event celebrates exemplary alumni and friends of Camden Catholic High School who have proven themselves academically, artistically, civically, and athletically. Funds raised at the Hall of Fame event benefit scholarships for current students who are selected by the Hall of Fame committee based on a submitted essay, leadership qualities, determination, and Camden Catholic spirit.
