On April 17 at 1:30 p.m., members of the MOMS Club of Moorestown will deliver truckloads of diapers, wipes, baby food and formula to the Bread of Life Food Pantry housed in Epworth United Methodist Church, 501 Morgan Avenue in Palmyra. MOMS Club members will also deliver baby and children’s clothing to Mary’s Closet, also housed at Epworth.
The MOMS Club of Moorestown is a non-profit organization that connects and supports moms in Moorestown, Riverton, Palmyra, Riverside, Delran, Delanco and Cinnaminson. The group is one of over 1,500 chapters of an international non-profit formed in the 1980s to support mothers. The local chapter coordinates service projects to support moms in need, as well as playgroups, a running club, “Mom’s Nights Out,” a book club, and activities for moms, children and families. Dale Niece, coordinator for the Bread of Life Food Pantry, expressed his great thanks for the club’s efforts.
“We are so appreciative of the support we are getting from the local community and MOMS Club. This help is coming at a perfect time. We have a limited supply of baby needs and we’ve been spending the majority of our budget on diapers,” Niece said.
“There’s been a higher than usual request for children’s’ clothes. We really need children’s clothing right now,” Donna Undercuffler, director of Mary’s Closet, said.
