Students in Cherokee’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) club advanced to State Leadership Conference and Competitive Events

Several business students in Cherokee’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) club advanced to the State Leadership Conference and Competitive Events held in East Brunswick.

More than 5,000 students from across the State competed and three Cherokee students qualified to represent the State of New Jersey at the National Leadership Conference and Competitive Events held this summer in Chicago.

-Nihar Sheth (Senior) placed 2nd for business communications and in addition to his plaque, won a $750 scholarship to Johnson & Wales University.

-Joshua Chadwick (Sophomore) won 1st Place for introduction to information technology.

-Justin Becker (Junior) placed 2nd for networking concepts. Justin also qualified to attend nationals in Nashville last summer and won first place in the country in his category, introduction to technology concepts.

In addition to competitive events, the FBLA State Leadership conference awards schools for community service projects. The Cherokee FBLA Chapter, under its Pop-A-Top Program, collects can tabs during lunch periods to benefit the Ronald McDonald House. At the State Conference, Cherokee High School donated 17 pounds of can tabs.

Additionally, Cherokee FBLA is committed to cleaning Tomlinson Mill Road Park in Marlton several times a year. FBLA-PBL is the largest business career student organization in the world. FBLA, its high school division, has over 215,000 members and helps students prepare for a career in business through, seminars, competitions and conferences each year.
