The Moorestown DeCafe hosts singer-songwriter Michael Smith on March 20

The Moorestown DeCafe is honored and delighted to welcome a return visit from Michael Smith on March 20. A nationally-treasured singer-songwriter, Smith’s lengthy catalog of original tunes includes the brilliant “Dead Egyptian Blues,” the clever and funny “Zippy” and the iconic and moving “The Dutchman”. Born in South Orange and raised and schooled in north Jersey before moving on to Florida and then Chicago, Michael is a veteran of the coffeehouse scene and numerous folk festivals. He also wrote the music for a Tony-winning production of Steinbeck’s “The Grapes of Wrath” and equivalent awards for his Chicago autobiographical play “Michael, Margaret, Pat and Kate.”

DeCafe provides a warm coffeehouse environment for great music in an intimate setting surrounded by art. Perkins Center for the Arts is located at 395 Kings Highway. Doors open 7:30 pm; concert starts at 8:15 pm. $20 includes coffee, tea and treats. For tickets, call (856) 235–6488 or visit www.perkinsarts.org.
