March 21 rabies inoculation clinic for Shamong residents’ dogs and cats postponed

The previously announced free rabies inoculation clinic for residents’ dogs and cats originally scheduled for Saturday, March 21, has been postponed. This clinic, originally to be held at the Shamong Municipal Garage, has been postponed due to a vaccine shortage. A new date will be announced in the future.

Dog licenses, which would have been available at the now postponned clinic, can still purchased any day Monday through Friday at the Shamong Municipal Building from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A rabies certification must be examined before a license can be sold. Cost is $10 with proof that the dog has been spayed or neutered, or $13 without proof, a New Jersey state requirement. New Jersey law requires all dog over six months of age be registered.
