Search for suspect in aggravated assault case leads Mt. Laurel Police Blotter this week

The following information was provided by the Mt. Laurel Police Department.
On Jan. 20 at 12:20 a.m. Mt. Laurel Police responded to the Home Depot on Nixon Drive for the report of an assault. The investigation revealed that a supervisor at Home Depot terminated the employment of a 59-year-old man from Dover, Del. During their meeting the suspect struck the supervisor in the head with a heavy metal object. He then fled the scene prior to police arrival. The victim sustained a laceration but declined to be transported to the hospital. An arrest warrant for aggravated assault has been issued for the man from Dover.

A member of LA Fitness on Dearborne Circle reported a gym bag and wallet were taken from his vehicle on Jan. 16 between 5:30 and 6:43 p.m. Entry was gained by punching out the driver’s side door lock causing an estimated $200 in damage.

Mt. Laurel Police arrested a 20-year-old man of the unit block of Easton Way, Hainesport, on Jan. 16 for possession of marijuana under 50 grams. He was stopped for a motor vehicle violation in the parking lot of Centerton Square Shopping Center for a motor vehicle violation at 8:46 p.m. He was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and released pending a court hearing.

Mt. Laurel Police arrested a 24-year-old man from Cinnaminson on Jan. 17 for possession of marijuana. He was stopped on Church Road near Arbor Way for a motor vehicle violation at 9:44 p.m. He was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and released pending a court hearing.

Mt. Laurel Police arrested a 24-year-old Mt. Laurel man on Jan. 20 for possession of marijuana under 50 grams. He was arrested as a result of a suspicious vehicle complaint at 9:24 p.m. on Hilltop Drive. He was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and released pending a court hearing.

On Jan. 20, several guests of a hotel on the 500 block of Fellowship Road fell victim to a phone scam resulting in credit card fraud. The guests received calls from a person who claimed to be a hotel employee at the front desk. The caller asked the guests to provide their credit card information to be put on file for hotel incidentals. After the guests provided their credit card information numerous fraudulent charges were placed on their cards through online purchases.

A resident of the 200 block of Chaucer Court reported someone broke the rear window on her minivan during the overnight hours of Jan. 20 and Jan. 21.
