Kathy Donoghue earns annual honor at Seneca High School

Kathy Donoghue has been named Seneca’s 2015–2016 educational services professional of the year.

Donoghue graduated from Rutgers University in 1985 with a bachelor’s of science degree in environmental science. After teaching science classes for 10 years at West Deptford and Washington Township High Schools, she earned her master’s degree in library science from Rowan University. Donoghue worked as a media specialist in Medford Township at an elementary school. When Seneca High School opened its doors 12 years ago, Donoghue was appointed to the media center where she has remained ever since. In addition to her position as librarian, Donoghue has been a soccer and golf coach, class advisor and school photographer. She is a sports enthusiast and the №1 Seneca fan, and was recently named assistant athletic director. Donoghue believes school involvement enhances connections with students fostering positive relationships within the school.

“When Seneca first opened, we had more students than books and only a few computers. We have become a library in the fullest sense, fitting the needs of our students and staff,” Donoghue said.

Donoghue lives in Shamong with her husband of 29 years. She has two grown children and a Scottie dog that is secretly her favorite.
