The following information was provided by the Cherry Hill Police Department.
On Dec. 27 at approximately 4:40 p.m., Cherry Hill Police responded to the Sephora Store in the Cherry Hill Mall for the report of two adult females being detained for shoplifting. The females, 21-year-old from Belleplain and a 34-year-old from Egg Harbor Twp. were observed concealing cosmetics totaling over $500 underneath a four-month-old infant, who was inside a car seat mounted to a stroller.
Both women were charged with shoplifting and using a juvenile to commit a criminal offense. The Egg Harbor Twp. woman was additionally charged with hindering apprehension after providing false information regarding her identity. Both women were released on their own recognizance and the incident was referred to the Division of Child Protection and Permanency.
