The Moorestown Lions Club Holiday Parade was held under stormy conditions with great enthusiasm and few cancellations of registered participants. Moorestown Township Council, Helen Davies Miramontes, Lions Club president, and Will Merriken, Citizen of the Year, led the parade consisting of 27 different marchers and floats. While the three string bands and the Moorestown High School band scheduled to perform canceled due to damage risk to instruments, the invincible Liberty Band soldiered on in full compliment and gave an excellent performances. Prizes were awarded to the float and marching group categories with Brownie Troop 22342 winning first place in the float category and Daisy Troop 27447 and Cadette Troop 26174 taking second and third place, respectively. Girl Scout Troop 23618 won the best marching group prize with Cub Scout Pack 44 and Girl Scout Troop 23562 winning second and third place respectively.
The parade was held with the financial support of the Township, E&B Coins, Edward Brigante, Stines Apothecary, Liberty Bell Bank, Lewis Funeral Home, Workmans Bicycle Shop, Rotary, Happy Hippo, Morrone and Kaye, D.D.S., Armstrong Pediatric Dental, Moorestown Eye Associates, South Jersey Eye Physiciams, Heron Real Estate, Passariellos, Carl’s Shoes, B.T.
