Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice’s Jewish Hospice Program has been a flurry of activity in December. Recently, the program received a generous gift of personal care items from the National Council of Jewish Women. The items included shampoo, soap and toothpaste, and will benefit the program’s patients and their families. Additionally, Samaritan volunteers have been preparing Hanukkah gifts for Samaritan’s Jewish patients and their families.
Samaritan’s Jewish Hospice Program provides a very special kind of care and support for all Jewish people living with serious illness when a cure is not possible. Our mission is to bring a Sukkat Shalom — a Shelter of Peace — to our patients and their families by providing comfort, dignity and quality of life in the spirit of Chesed Shel Emet, eternal loving and compassionate kindness.
Samaritan’s Jewish Hospice Program was created more than 15 years ago in coordination with the Samost Jewish Family and Children’s Service of Southern New Jersey to ensure that no Jewish person is ever alone when facing serious illness. For more information, visit www.samaritannj.org.
