Burlington County College to host Holiday Auction on Friday, Nov. 21

The Burlington County College Foundation’s 26th Annual Holiday Auction, Friday, Nov. 21, the organization’s principal fundraiser, provides Burlington County College students in need with financial assistance that helps them achieve a college degree.

Last year, the holiday auction raised more than $75,000 for student scholarships. This year, with the auction’s much-anticipated return to the Mt. Laurel campus’s Enterprise Center at BCC, 3331 Route 38, the BCC Foundation hopes to raise even more money for students who need it most.

“Every dollar we award goes to Burlington County College students who need assistance,” said BCC Vice President of Institutional Advancement and Executive Director of the BCC Foundation Rebecca Corbin. “The holiday auction committee has designed an event that will exceed all expectations and raise a significant amount of funds to support students. Last year, the BCC Foundation awarded more than $261,000 to deserving students. We hope to do even better this year.”

Nearly 200 auction items, including gifts for kids, adults, sports fans and more, as well as special signature items like a houseboat getaway in Page, Arizona, a diamond necklace and a vacation in Jamaica, will be featured during the event’s silent auction. In addition to a bid number, tickets also include food, an open bar and all the evening’s entertainment including live music provided by some members of the Don’t Call Me Francis Band, and other special surprises.

“This year’s auction theme is ‘It’s a Wonderful Life,’ which is centered on the impact that one individual can have on others and is very appropriate for this event,” said BCC Interim President Dr. David Spang. “Everyone who purchases a ticket, donates a gift item or supports the auction, will make a tremendous difference in the lives of students who may not otherwise have had the opportunity to pursue a college education.”

The event and bidding begins at 6 p.m. Event tickets are available for $125. Patron tickets are available for $150 and include a patron listing in the program, in addition to the many benefits of an event ticket. Sponsorship and advertising opportunities are still available.
