The Moorestown Community House will host a night of comedy featuring Joe Conklin

On Thursday evening, Nov. 6 at The Moorestown Community House, Court Appointed Special Advocates of Burlington County will host a night of comedy and a reception benefiting abused and neglected children in Burlington County. The benefit’s featured performer will be Joe Conklin, one of Philadelphia’s top comedians and radio personalities.

Conklin has been a constant in Philadelphia radio for more than 25 years. He is heard on the 94WIP morning with Angelo Cataldi and is known for his spot-on on impressions of Barack Obama, Charles Barkley, Ed Rendell, Jack Nicholson and many others. His stand-up routine is legendary, as he’s genially skewered some of the country’s top politicians, pro athletes, sports executives and film stars, sometimes to their faces.

“We’re very fortunate to have Joe on board to entertain us on what promises to be a special night — one with great laughs and great food for a great cause,” said Randall Kirkpatrick, director of community development for Mercer and Burlington counties. “In addition to Joe, we’ll have Eddie McGonigal as our warm-up act, a true comedic best-kept secret, and Nora Muchanic, a WPVI (Ch. 6, WABC) reporter will be our MC and live auctioneer for the evening.”

Corporate sponsors for “Stand up for a Child” include Investors Bank at the LOL level, and Silly Grin sponsors Barclay Braddock Group, Beneficial Bank, Capehart Scatchard, Lavan Law, Liberty Bell Bank and Team Builders Plus. This year’s co-chairs are Michael Houlihan of Barclay/Braddock Group in Medford and Teresa Sydorko of Delco Development in Mt. Laurel. The event will feature both a silent and live auction.

Individual tickets are $125, Tables of 8 are $900 and tables of 10 are $1100, and can be purchased securely at www.casaofburlingtoncounty.org. RSVP deadline is Monday, Oct. 27. Sponsorships are still available; contact Randall Kirkpatrick at (609) 434–0050, ext. 109 or [email protected].
