The following information was provided by the Cherry Hill Police Department.
On Monday Oct. 13, at approximately 6:39 p.m., police were called to the Philly Diamond Connection Store located in the Cherry Hill Mall for a panic alarm. While police were en route to the call, it was upgraded to a robbery.
Upon arrival, police determined that a lone male with a shirt covering his face smashed a jewelry display case with a hammer and then removed several gold necklaces. The man then began to run from the area but was subdued by the store manager and several mall patrons. The actor, a 23-year-old man from Pennsauken, was then detained by mall security until police arrived. Upon arrival by police, the man was taken into custody and all proceeds were returned to the store. He was charged with robbery, theft, unlawful possession of a weapon and criminal mischief. He was later remanded to the Camden County Jail in default of $50,000 cash bail.
While the Cherry Hill Police recognize the assistance from the store manager and the mall patrons we highly recommend that the public act solely as a witness and refrain from attempting to take any subject into custody.
