The following information comes from Evesham Fire-Rescue:
On Wednesday evening, Aug. 20, at approximately 7:45 p.m., Engine 221 was dispatched to the unit block of Quaker Street investigate the report of a dryer fire. Units arrived in minutes to find smoke coming from multiple windows and the front door of the two-story home. They requested that the full assignment be dispatched for a house fire. Engine 221 quickly went into service with a hoseline and extinguished the fire. The bulk of the fire damage was limited to the laundry room, but water and smoke damage was significant in the remainder of the home. Crews opened up the walls to check for fire extension and found none. Evesham Fire-Rescue’s Fire Marshal is investigating the origin and cause of the fire.
