The following information comes from Lt. Joseph Friel at the Evesham Township Police Department:
On Aug. 7 Evesham Police conducted a criminal investigation into alleged prostitution after receiving numerous reports of suspicious activity coming from the S & L Wellness Center Massage Parlor, located at 50 South Maple Ave.
The investigation ultimately led to the arrest of a New York woman who was allegedly using the business to promote prostitution. During this investigation, detectives located numerous on-line advertisements requiring potential clients to call prior to making any appointments. Detectives conducted surveillance on the location and were quickly able to locate several individuals who obtained sexual favors in exchange for currency. The following were charged with Prostitution related offenses:
Arrested:
A female, age 52, of Flushing, N.Y. was charged with fourth degree promoting prostitution and a disorderly persons offense for engaging in prostitution. She was released on her own recognizance.
A female, age 45, unknown address, was charged with a disorderly persons offense for engaging in prostitution. She was released on her own recognizance.
A male, age 58 of Ship Bottom, was charged with a disorderly persons offense for engaging in prostitution. He was released on his own recognizance.
A male, age 40, of Mount Laurel, was charged with a disorderly persons offense for engaging in prostitution. He was released on his own recognizance.
