Residents will elect members to township committee, two boards of education

With Election Day right around the corner, residents of Voorhees will be heading to the polls on Nov. 5 to vote for a member of Voorhees Township Committee and members of two different boards of education.

Running for the sole open seat on township committee is incumbent Committeeman Michael Friedman and challenger Kurt Stroemel.

Residents will also vote for members of the Voorhees Board of Education and members of the regional school district for Eastern High School.

With three open seats on the Voorhees Public School District board of education, John Schmus, Nancy Seigle and Richard Wojdon are running. In addition, both Mary Schmus and Hillary Garr are running for reelection to the Eastern High School board of education.

Residents will also be voting for governor and lieutenant governor, with incumbent Republican Gov. Chris Christie and Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno running against Democratic candidates Barbara Buono and Milly Silva.

Residents in districts 1 and 4 will vote at Osage School on Somerdale Road; district 2 at the Kirkwood Fire Hall on Burnt Mill and Spencer Road; districts 3 and 15 at Kresson Fire Hall on Cooper Road; districts 5, 12 and 18 at the Voorhees Municipal Complex in Town Center; district 6 at the Voorhees Board of Education Administration Building on Route 73; districts 7 and 19 at Voorhees Middle School at Holly Oak Drive; districts 8 and 14 at Kresson School cafeteria on School Lane; districts 9 and 10 at Hamilton School on Northgate Drive; districts 11 and 16 at Signal Hill School on Signal Hill Road and district 17 at Centennial Mills Development on Alyce Lane.
