Registration and breakfast will open at 7:30 a.m. with the presentation from 8:15–10 a.m.

The workshop will highlight practical skills for legal and financial professionals to use in advising grieving clients in making wise decisions, while also teaching them how to offer genuine support without intruding into clients’ personal lives.

The event will feature guest speaker Amy Florian, CEO of Corgenius.

As a recognized and acclaimed speaker, Florian travels throughout North America training professionals to effectively support clients through transition and loss. She is the author of more than 90 articles and the book No Longer Awkward: Communicating with Clients through the Toughest Times of Life.

Additionally, Florian is a former columnist for the Journal of Financial Planning who has been quoted in the Wall Street Journal and featured in Financial Advisor, Financial Planning, MSN Money, On Wall Street and Financial Advisor IQ. She holds a master’s degree and is a Fellow in Thanatology — the highest level of certification in the field of grief studies. She currently teaches a graduate class at Loyola University Chicago, has worked with more than 2,000 grieving people and regularly consults with firms, corporations and individuals nationwide.

“When you walk clients through some of the most challenging times of their lives, you’ve got a client for life,” Florian said.

“We are happy to sponsor this timely workshop as a helpful, educational tool for attorneys, financial planners and accountants who may encounter clients experiencing loss,” Nancy Carman, Director of SeniorWise Care Management, said. “With Amy Florian’s expertise, we are hoping that attendees will walk away with the skills they need to say and do the right thing when first meeting with a client who has just experienced loss of any kind — and to keep a client and family for life and for generations to come.”

The workshop offers the following continuing education credits for attendees: one continuing education credit for Financial Planners, 1.5 PA CLE for Attorneys (with NJ reciprocity) with CE credits pending for accountants.

Registration is required — those interested in attending may call (856) 552–3258 or register online at SamaritanHealthcareNJ.org by clicking on the “Register for Advising Clients through Grief and Loss” tab.
The cost is $99 with the promo code SENIORWISE when registering online or by phone.
